Healthcare Workers


Immunizations help healthcare workers keep patients healthy.

Health professionals play an important role in keeping patients safe.  In addition to providing medical care, people who work in hospitals, doctors’ offices, and other health facilities can help keep patients healthy by protecting themselves from vaccine-preventable diseases.  By being fully immunized, healthcare workers can limit the spread of disease in their workplace.

 

Healthcare workers should receive all the immunizations that are recommended for adults.  However, there are some vaccines that are highly recommended for people who work in health care facilities.

 

Recommended Vaccinations for Healthcare Personnel

Healthcare workers should receive ALL appropriate adult immunizations, especially:

  • Hepatitis B
  • Influenza
  • MMR
  • Meningococcal
  • Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis
  • Varicella
